The DJI RS 4 delivers improved operational efficiency, native vertical shooting, and a wider accessory ecosystem—making it a powerful choice for mirrorless camera users. Weighing just 2.4 lb, it supports a payload of up to 6.6 lb, which easily accommodates compact camera builds. With Teflon-coated axes, the gimbal ensures reduced friction for smoother balancing and operation. Additionally, it features a fine-tuning knob, auto-locking OLED screen, and RSA communication port for expanded connectivity.

Second-Generation Quick Release Plate Design

DJI RS 4 uses the dual-layered quick release plates seen in its predecessor. However, the redesigned horizontal plate allows quicker transitions to native vertical shooting. The tilt axis can be adjusted with a fine-tuning knob to help you find the perfect balance. Moreover, the upper plate includes placement guides for more secure camera mounting.

Second-Generation Automated Axis Locks

When powered off, simply press and hold the power button to unlock all three axes and automatically expand the gimbal in two seconds. Pressing the button once more locks the axes and activates sleep mode. This design also reduces the gap between locked axes, minimizing shake during transport or storage.

RSA Communication Port

The RSA port enables direct integration with DJI Ronin accessories or compatible third-party add-ons. Thanks to DJI’s RS SDK protocol, developers can now create custom features tailored to your specific workflows, offering unmatched flexibility.

Wireless Shutter Control

The RS 4 uses Dual-Mode Bluetooth for wireless shutter control. After the initial pairing, the gimbal reconnects automatically with your camera, eliminating the need for cables. You can start recording video or photos by simply pressing the record button on the handle.

New DJI Focus Pro Motor

You can pair the RS 4 with DJI’s new Focus Pro Motor via the dedicated USB-C port. With 30% faster speed, this motor allows lens focusing through the front dial and zooming with the joystick. This upgrade is ideal for single shooters who need fast, precise control.

Integrated Controls

Slide the new gimbal mode switch to toggle between Pan Follow, Pan and Tilt Follow, and FPV modes. Additionally, you can customize FPV mode to perform 3D Roll 360, Portrait, or Custom configurations.

Use the Ronin app to adjust camera exposure settings or operate the gimbal via a virtual joystick. When paired with the Ronin Image Transmitter, your smartphone transforms into a motion controller—allowing flexible and dynamic remote control for creative shooting.

Enhanced Battery and Fast Charging

The new cartridge-style battery grip is easy to swap and more compact for travel. It charges separately and provides up to 12 hours of runtime, which is ideal for all-day shoots. With 18W PD fast charging, it reaches full charge in just 2.5 hours. Even better, you can use the gimbal while charging to keep working without interruption.
