Zhiyun SMOOTH-5S AI Overview

The Zhiyun Smooth 5S AI Combo is a powerful 3-axis smartphone gimbal that comes with an AI tracking unit for enhanced subject tracking. It supports smartphones between 2 to 3.6 inches wide and weighing up to 10.6 oz. You can attach the AI tracking unit to either side of the phone clamp to enable gesture control for recording, reframing, and tracking.

This gimbal features updated stabilization with high-torque motors that deliver smooth, precise movements. You can even attach the optional AI tracker module for more intelligent tracking. Thanks to its 360° rotation, Vortex Mode offers immersive shooting experiences.

The new transparent arm design makes adjustments easier. Meanwhile, high-torque motors ensure fluid motion across pan, tilt, and roll axes. Built-in magnetic mounting points allow you to add the AI tracker or extra fill lights effortlessly.

A 650-lux integrated fill light sits on the tilt axis arm to brighten your shots, while efficient heat dissipation keeps things cool. The redesigned control panel improves user experience, with a dedicated joystick, mode switch, fill light control, and photo/video buttons. Additionally, the gimbal connects via Bluetooth 5.1, giving you full access to features in the ZY Cami and StaCam apps.

Gimbal Modes

Pan Follow Mode: tilt and roll axis motors are locked and the pan axis follows movement
Lock Mode: all three motors are locked
Follow Mode: roll axis motor is locked and the tilt and pan axis motors follow movement
Point of View Mode: all three motors follow movement
Vortex Mode: tilt motor rotates upward by 90° and the three motors follow the rotation of the handle
Go Mode: the camera pans and filts following the movement of the gimbal, roll axis is locked

The ZY Cami app features a SMART mode, SmartFollow 3.0 mode, Gesture Control, Live Stream Master, and the ZY Cami Editor.
The StaCam supports customizable framing, lens focal length adjustments, depth beauty effects, and advanced video customization.
