24.2MP APS-C CMOS Sensor and DIGIC X Processing
The 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor offers a perfect balance between resolution, file size, speed, and low-light performance. Coupled with the DIGIC X processor, it delivers continuous shooting up to 23 fps (electronic shutter) or 15 fps (mechanical shutter). ISO ranges from 100–32,000 and expand up to 51,200, ensuring sharp images even in challenging lighting.
DIGIC X Processor
Borrowed from the R3, the R10 sports a DIGIC X image processor to perform a variety of high-speed tasks, ranging from continuous shooting to high-resolution video recording. In terms of high-speed shooting, the R10 supports up to 23 fps continuous shooting with a silent electronic shutter or 15 fps with a mechanical shutter, with AF and AE readings before each frame. The processor also helps to realize a broad sensitivity range from ISO 100-32000, which is expandable up to ISO 51200 for working in difficult lighting conditions.
UHD 4K Video Recording
Record crisp 4K video at up to 60p with a cropped sensor or 30p using an oversampled 6K area for improved sharpness and lower noise. Slow-motion recording supports 120p at Full HD. HDR-PQ 10-bit recording is available in-camera, and external recording via micro-HDMI is supported.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF II
Featuring 651 AF points, this system covers the entire sensor. It intelligently tracks people, animals, and vehicles. Low-light focusing reaches down to -4 EV, ensuring precise focus even at night.
Body Design
Intuitive Construction
- A 2.36m-dot OLED EVF and a 3.0″ vari-angle LCD provide flexible shooting angles and vivid live view. A single SD card slot supports UHS-II cards for seamless 4K recording and high-speed bursts.
Flexible Connectivity
The R10 offers USB-C, micro-HDMI, and a 3.5mm mic port. Wireless control and file transfer are possible via 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Next-Generation Multi-Function Shoe
The updated hot shoe supports additional accessories and supplies power to select devices. Compatible accessories include the ST-E10 Speedlite Transmitter, DM-E1D Stereo Microphone, and AD-P1 Smartphone Link Adapter.
