RF 28-70mm f2L: A New Benchmark

The Canon RF 28-70mm f2L USM sets a new benchmark in zoom lens design. It combines the flexibility of a zoom with the speed and brightness usually reserved for prime lenses.

With its constant f/2 maximum aperture, the lens delivers outstanding low-light performance. It also provides greater control over depth of field, allowing you to isolate subjects with precision.

  • Canon uses Ultra-Low Dispersion (UD) glass elements to minimize color fringing and chromatic aberrations. As a result, images maintain excellent clarity and accurate color across the entire zoom range.

  • In addition, the lens includes a configurable Control Ring. This feature lets you quickly adjust exposure settings such as ISO, aperture, or exposure compensation directly from the lens.

  • As part of the L-series, the RF 28-70mm features a weather-resistant build. This design protects against dust and moisture, making it reliable even in challenging outdoor conditions.

  • The lens also integrates a ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM), an internal focusing system, and optimized algorithms. Together, they deliver fast, quiet, and precise autofocus. You can also switch instantly to full-time manual focus for added control.
