18MP 1″ Sensor, 3:4 Vertical Aspect Ratio
The X half uses a vertical 1″ BSI CMOS sensor for 18MP 3:4 stills and video. Film Simulation modes create expressive, filmic images. Adjust exposure with the +/-3 EV dial, aperture ring, or rear touchscreen.
Film Camera Mode
Switch to Film Camera Mode for a true film feel. Pick one Film Simulation and a 36-, 54-, or 72-shot “roll.” View results only after “developing” via the FUJIFILM app or computer.

Film Simulation Modes
Film Simulations pair perfectly with Film Camera Mode. Swipe the sub LCD to cycle through 13 modes like vibrant Velvia, nostalgic Classic Chrome, or Acros black-and-white.

2-in-1 Shooting Mode
Create diptychs like half-frame film shares. Shoot two sequential frames—photo or video. The camera combines them into one file.

Wide-Angle Prime Lens
- The fixed FUJINON 10.8mm f/2.8 lens gives a 32mm equivalent view. It suits everyday subjects perfectly.
- Turn the aperture ring for f/2.8-f/11 control; use ‘A’ for auto modes. Focus manually down to 4″ with the front ring. In Film Mode, check distances on the zone scale.
Design Details
Meant to be especially compact and portable, the X half incorporates a handful of additional unique design elements to make it more fun to use, more akin to shooting film, and faster to operate for on-the-fly shooting.
Optical Window Viewfinder
- The corner viewfinder mimics rangefinders. It matches the 3:4 aspect with 90% coverage. An eye sensor turns off the LCD when you look through it.
- Located next to the main LCD is a smaller pill-shaped sub LCD touchscreen that commonly displays the chosen Film Simulation mode in use; when in the menu, it is used for navigation.
- The camera lacks a Menu button, opting instead to use swiping methods on the rear touchscreen to access the menu—swiping down from the top reveals the Film Camera Mode and wireless connection options; swiping from the right accesses the main menu, with category options selectable from the separate sub LCD display; and swiping up from the bottom opens a quick menu for faster settings switching on select parameters.
- Shutter button on the top plate is surrounded by an exposure compensation dial, allowing for +/-3 EV adjustment.
- Integrated Frame Advance Lever mimics the function of winding on a film camera. When shooting in the Film Camera Mode, this lever lets you advance to the next frame and, when shooting normally, is used to active the 2-in-1 shooting mode. Additionally, when pressed into the body, the last photo is displayed on the LCD for review without entering the playback mode.
- Built-in LED flash to illuminate subjects in low-light conditions.
- Cold shoe on the top plate can be used to hold optional accessories, such as external lights.
- Single SD memory card slot.
- Powered by an NP-W126S rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
- USB-C port on the side of the camera can be used for battery charging, file transferring, and for audio monitoring via headphones.
Vertical Video
Record social-ready vertical video at 1080×1440 24fps. Add slow-motion up to 200%. The top stereo mic captures sound clearly.
Sharing and Printing
- Connect wirelessly to INSTAX printers for instant prints. Use the X half app to share images, develop Film Mode rolls, and create diptychs.
