The Canon EOS R Mirrorless with R Mount marks Canon’s first step into the next generation of mirrorless technology. Featuring the advanced RF lens mount and a 30.3MP full-frame CMOS sensor, this camera delivers exceptional quality for photographers and videographers alike. The redesigned mount allows for faster, sharper, and more compact RF lenses while maintaining compatibility with existing EF and EF-S lenses via the optional EF-EOS R Mount Adapter.

30.3MP Full-Frame CMOS Sensor and DIGIC 8 Image Processor

With its 30.3MP full-frame sensor and DIGIC 8 image processor, the EOS R balances high resolution, speed, and low-light performance. It supports a native ISO range of 100–40,000 (expandable to 50–102,400), continuous shooting at 8 fps, and sharp UHD 4K30 video recording.

This combination produces vibrant stills and detailed video while ensuring minimal noise in challenging lighting conditions.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF

The Dual Pixel CMOS AF system uses 5,655 selectable points for precise focusing across most of the frame. It tracks subjects smoothly and quickly, even in low light down to EV -6. Whether you’re shooting stills or video, it locks onto people, moving subjects, or objects with confidence.

For video, Movie Servo AF delivers natural focus transitions, while Touch AF allows you to select focus points directly on the touchscreen. The system supports customizable tracking sensitivity and speed for complete creative control.

UHD 4K Video Recording and Canon Log Gamma

Create cinematic video with UHD 4K recording at up to 30 fps, Full HD at 60 fps, and HD 720p at 120 fps for smooth slow motion. For color grading flexibility, Canon Log provides up to 12 stops of dynamic range and 4:2:2 10-bit clean HDMI output.

Onboard stereo mics and a 3.5mm input support external microphones for professional-quality audio.

Dual Pixel RAW

First introduced with the EOS 5D Mark IV, Dual Pixel RAW allows photographers to record all the information the sensor’s unique pixel architecture can deliver, providing a way for fine adjustments to be made after the image is taken. These adjustments include focus fine tuning that can help you ever-so-slightly adjust the focus point to bring out extra details, shift bokeh around for improved composition, and reduce the impact of ghosting on your photos. This requires the use of Canon’s Digital Photo Professional software.

• Smart Connectivity: Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth allow for seamless sharing, remote control, and geotagging via the Canon Camera Connect app.

• Long-Lasting Power: The LP-E6N battery provides around 430 shots per charge. In-camera charging is supported via the PD-E1 USB Power Adapter. The camera also works with the LP-E6 battery, but that model does not support in-camera charging.

Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R

Extending the range of compatible lenses, the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R is a lightweight, compact lens adapter designed for attaching any EF or EF-S-mount lens to the EOS R mirrorless digital camera. This simple adapter retains full autofocus and image stabilization capabilities and contains no optical components, thereby maintaining the original optical quality of the mounted lens. It is also dust- and water-resistant, making it suitable for use in harsh weather conditions.
