Nikon D3500 Overview

The Nikon D3500 is compact, easy to use, and versatile—ideal for beginners and enthusiasts. It combines simplicity with powerful DSLR performance. With a 24.2MP DX-format CMOS sensor and EXPEED 4 processor, it delivers sharp photos and smooth videos. The camera shoots continuously at 5 fps, records Full HD 1080p at 60 fps, and offers ISO 100–25600 for low-light shooting. By removing the optical low-pass filter, the sensor ensures maximum sharpness and detail.

24.2MP DX-Format Sensor and EXPEED 4 Processor

The 24.2MP CMOS sensor works with the EXPEED 4 processor to deliver vivid colors, wide dynamic range, and excellent low-light results. You get native ISO up to 25600, continuous shooting at 5 fps, and Full HD video recording. The design omits the optical low-pass filter, enhancing image clarity and detail.

SnapBridge Bluetooth Connectivity

Built-in SnapBridge with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) makes it easy to share photos. You can transfer 2MP images automatically while shooting and connect up to five devices. SnapBridge also integrates with Nikon Image Space for backup and sharing.

Multi-CAM 1000 Autofocus Sensor

Benefitting the high image quality is an apt AF system that employs 11 distinct AF points to quickly acquire focus in a range of lighting conditions from -1 to +19 EV.

Full HD Movie Recording

Full HD 1920 x 1080p movie recording is supported in multiple frame rates up to 60 fps, as well as HD 720p, in the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format. During recording, full-time autofocus can be employed, with face-detection and subject-tracking capabilities, for ensured sharpness with a wide variety of subject types. Additionally, a built-in monaural microphone can be used to record high-quality sound during movie recording.

Body Design

The redesigned body is lightweight and compact, with controls placed on the right side for one-handed operation.

The included zoom lens offers a 27–82.5mm equivalent focal length. With a pulse stepping motor, it ensures fast and quiet autofocus—great for video. Two aspherical elements and a Super Integrated Coating reduce flare and ghosting. Vibration Reduction provides up to 4 stops of stabilization for sharper handheld shots.
