ZEISS Optical Design
- This lens uses the ZEISS Tessar concept with 16 elements in 12 groups for sharp and clear images. One extra-low dispersion element reduces chromatic aberrations, while four aspherical elements minimize distortion and curvature. An advanced aspherical (AA) element further enhances edge-to-edge clarity. The rounded seven-blade diaphragm creates smooth, pleasing bokeh. Additionally, ZEISS T* coatings cut reflections, improving contrast and color fidelity.
Image Stabilization and Autofocus
- Optical SteadyShot stabilization helps reduce camera shake, delivering sharper handheld images, especially at slower shutter speeds. You can also combine OSS with select camera sensor-shift stabilization for even better results. A linear autofocus motor ensures fast, accurate, and silent focusing—perfect for both stills and video. The internal focusing design keeps the lens compact, and the 1.1 ft minimum focus distance with 0.23x magnification makes it suitable for close-up shots.
