The Full-Frame All-Rounder
24.2MP Full-Frame Sensor and DIGIC X Processing
The 24.2MP sensor balances resolution and speed. It works well for both stills and video, with excellent low-light performance and accurate colors.
Borrowed from the Canon R3, the DIGIC X processor enables fast bursts and detailed 4K video. You get 40 fps with the silent electronic shutter or 12 fps with the mechanical shutter. RAW Burst Mode at 30 fps even captures 0.5 seconds before you press the shutter.
ISO ranges from 100–102400, expandable to 204800, ensuring reliable performance in dark conditions.
UHD 4K Video Recording
The R6 II records UHD 4K 60p video using the full sensor width. It also supports oversampled 4K 30p from 6K capture, giving sharper detail, less moiré, and reduced noise. For slow motion, you can record Full HD at up to 180p.
HDR-PQ recording is built in, and the micro-HDMI port outputs clean 6K up to 60 fps. Unlimited recording times, mic and headphone ports, and a multi-function shoe make it video-ready for professionals.
With a compatible external recorder, you can capture ProRes RAW up to 6K 60p or 3.7K cropped RAW.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II
- Advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system features 1053 automatic AF points that cover the entire sensor area and provide notably fast, responsive, and precise focusing performance.
- This phase-detection focusing system also has enhanced subject detection and tracking, benefitted by deep learning technology, with the ability to intelligently recognize people, animals, and vehicles. Subject tracking will automatically lock onto these subjects and maintain sharp focus while shooting, even throughout burst captures and when recording video.
- Dual Pixel AF II’s low-luminance limit focuses down to an impressive -6.5 EV for accurate focusing even in nighttime conditions.
