DJI RS 4 Mini Overview

The DJI RS 4 Mini is a compact, handheld gimbal stabilizer custom-built for mirrorless cameras. It supports payloads up to 4.4 lb and weighs only 2 lb, making it ideal for travel and single-handed operation. Powered by a built-in 3100mAh battery, it offers up to 13 hours of use and comes with a detachable extended grip/tripod for added stability.

Mount a Camera or Smartphone

With its 4.4 lb capacity, the RS 4 Mini supports popular setups like the Sony a7 series with a 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II lens, or lightweight vlogging cameras such as the Sony ZV series. Even when equipped with microphones, fill lights, and other accessories, it maintains smooth and stable movements.

Quick Auto-Axis Locks

The RS 4 Mini features auto-axis locks, a function borrowed from DJI’s flagship gimbals. When powered on, the three axes unlock automatically. When powered off or put to sleep, they lock again. This speeds up filming and packing. Additionally, upgraded arms now fold flatter for easier storage. With a single button press, you can lock the gimbal and tuck it neatly into your bag.

Fast Vertical Switch

Switching to vertical mode takes only about 10 seconds. Just loosen the side knob, rotate the horizontal plate 90°, then tighten it back. This simple mechanism makes the RS 4 Mini the fastest in the RS lineup for switching between horizontal and vertical orientations—perfect for shooting social media content on the go.

Easy Balancing

DJI added Teflon interlayers, as found in their flagship models, to reduce friction during balancing. The tilt axis fine-tuning knob lets you move the camera forward or backward with millimeter-level precision.

The upper quick-release plate features three positioning slots, allowing flexible installation options. When reattaching your camera, you can restore its position quickly without rebalancing.

Wireless Recording and Zoom

Pair your camera or smartphone via Bluetooth once, and you’ll never need to reconnect manually. You can start or stop recording directly from the gimbal’s record button. The joystick now supports Power Zoom (PZ lenses) and Clear Image Zoom, allowing smooth one-handed control.

Upgraded UI

The OLED touchscreen displays icons more clearly and operates smoothly. New visual prompts give you real-time gimbal status. You can fine-tune settings directly using the front dial. When locked, the screen dims and shows mode info to avoid accidental input and conserve battery.

Intelligent Tracking and Composition

The new RS Intelligent Tracking Module works across the RS 4 lineup. It helps users track subjects and maintain framing with minimal effort. This is ideal for orbit shots, self-tracking, or backward motion tracking during solo shoots.

The module tracks subjects up to 32.8 feet away, even in complex scenes. If the subject leaves the frame, the gimbal will automatically reacquire it. Installation is simple—just snap it onto the tilt axis using the magnetic quick release.
